Not Normal Living arrived into Denpasar Airport just before 10pm, with an approximate wait of 45 minutes for our baggage (fairly typical occurrence at this Airport) we didn’t reach the Kejora Villas until around 11.30pm. Sanur is about a 25 minute drive from the airport in light traffic. We were picked up and transferred by Kejora hired drivers for a charge of around $25AUD per van. The Villa was unlocked and sets of keys to the 3 individual bedrooms and living area were awaiting us. We were able to properly check in the following morning at Kejora Suites.
The Room
We stayed a week in Villa 8 which offers 3 bedrooms, 3 en-suite bathrooms, a large living and dining area and a formal sitting room. 2 of the 3 rooms had comfy king beds, the 3rd room had 2 single beds – best suited for teenagers or the kids. Large clean bathrooms with showers, one room with a bath and shower. Each room has ample clothes storage and dressing areas.
Facilities
This luxury villa is furnished in contemporary Balinese style with large day beds and tropical gardens with a sparkling infinity pool. The main villa compound houses a fully equipped kitchen, dining area that seats 6 and lounge room with large lounge, flat screen TV and sound system.
The villa is walking distance to all of Sanur’s restaurants, salons, supermarkets, boutiques and spas. Step out onto the beach side via the private Kejora beach entry and exit onto the 5km long beach walk esplanade. Kejora Villas-Suites has 24/7 security at the main entrance and the beach entrance and use of sun lounges on Sanur Beach at the Kejora Beach Club.
Dining
The villa has a large kitchen with full size fridge, oven and cooktop and a large supermarket, Hardy’s is an easy 10 minute walk from the villa. A $AUD5 taxi ride will get you back to the villas with your shopping. But… you are on holidays and who wants to cook when you have great restaurants, cafes and bars both on the beach and town side so close to the villa?! Food in Bali is by Australian standards, cheap, good and plentiful.

3 Monkeys – Casual elegance, innovative global cuisine and ambient vibes in Sanur. The contemporary menu melds modern Indonesian, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cultures and cuisine. Bookings are recommended. Entrees $AUD4-7, Pastas $AUD6-8, Mains $AUD10-18
Warung Little Bird – An awesome little Warung that serves fantastic fresh Indonesian food at bargain prices – nothing more than $AUD7 per meal. Good size serves and the best Mie Goreng and Nasi Goreng we tasted in Sanur.
The Bread Basket Bakery – Yum for when you are craving some fresh Aussie style bread and sandwiches. Fresh bread, pastries and all day breakfasts and build your own sandwiches, baguettes and rolls with delicious fillings. A cute, eclectic little shop with limited seating but even if busy take your food to go while wandering the streets of Sanur. Build your own sandwiches, croissants, baguette with salad, cheese and meat fillings- $AUD2.50-3.50, Sweet pastries AUD80c-$1.50, English All Day breakfast $AUD3.50
The Glasshouse – Located on site, the Glasshouse is a small but modern, well priced and delicious restaurant/cafe. You will have to visit more than once just to get to try all of the great food on offer. Traditional Indonesian to Asian fusion and Australian favourites. Save room for dessert and check out the display cabinet for the changing sweets and cakes of the day! The Glass House is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Cafe Smorgas – a small coffee shop and cafe serving homemade bread, cakes, pastry, gateau, jam and deli products. Good food, good prices and a great place to people watch the main street of Sanur as you eat and drink. Most meals are in the $AUD-5-10 range for all day dining.
Hot Tip
If you book direct through the Kejora Suites & Villas website they will arrange a complimentary transfer with the Kejora drivers to pick you up from the airport and bring you safely back to Kejora Villas-Suites. The next morning you will enjoy a complimentary breakfast at the great onsite restaurant, The Glass House.
